Happy 30th Anniversary, Pac-Man!
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the classic arcade game Pac-Man, Google, in their tradition of awesome homepage logos, has created a playable version of Pac-Man on their homepage. All you need to do is go to Google, click on the "Insert Coin" button (under the search field), and use your arrow keys to move Pac-Man when the game starts. If you want to play 2-player, click the "Insert Coin" button twice for Ms. Pac-Man added to the mix (she uses the WASD keys).
Google version is a great homage to a game that I have loved for literally decades. As a kid I had the mini-arcade game at home, the Atari 2600 game, the Pac-Man watch, and even a Pac-Man pillow. And what child of the 80's doesn't remember the Pac-Man cartoon that came out? Hell, Buckner and Garcia even wrote a song called "Pac-Man Fever" and I'm proud to say I have a CD of their arcade-inspired songs. Many a day of my youth were spent being chased by Inky, Pinky, Blinky, and Clyde (the Pac-Man ghosts). Enjoy Google's version!
